Legian, 8 August 2024 – SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar recently hosted a significant event, the Archipelago Sharing Session, featuring Bapak Arya Pering, Regional General Manager of Archipelago International. The event, themed "Being a Catalyst for Change," was designed to inspire and empower students, offering them a glimpse into the dynamic world of hospitality and the opportunities it presents.
The session was graced by the presence of General Managers and HR representatives from 12 Archipelago hotel units across Bali, including Aston Kuta, Aston Denpasar, Aston Canggu, Harper Kuta, Royal Kamuela Ubud, Neo+ Kuta Legian, Neo Denpasar, Neo Kuta Jelantik, Quest San Denpasar, Quest Kuta, Fave Kartika Plaza, and Fave Sunset Seminyak. Their participation underscored the importance of collaboration between the education sector and the hospitality industry.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from the Principal, teachers, and students of SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar. This was followed by a heartfelt prayer and the singing of the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," setting a patriotic tone for the day.
Bapak Arya Pering provided an insightful introduction to the Archipelago International brand, along with the properties under its umbrella. He emphasized the company's commitment to nurturing future talents and its role as a catalyst for positive change within the hospitality industry.
The students of SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar showcased their remarkable skills throughout the event. From performing traditional welcome dances and kerawitan (Balinese traditional music) to preparing and serving a delightful lunch for the attending GMs and HR representatives, the students demonstrated their proficiency in hospitality services. Their impressive culinary and service abilities received commendations from the guests, reflecting the high standards of training provided by the school.
