Nyepi is a traditional holiday in Bali, Indonesia, also known as Nyepi Day. It is observed on the Balinese calendar new year, which usually falls in March or April.

Nyepi is a day of total silence, fasting and self-reflection. The Balinese stay indoors, avoid any form of work, and refrain from entertainment. The streets are empty, and no lights are allowed to be lit at night, symbolizing the purification of the soul and the earth.

Before Nyepi, there is a procession called the Melasti ceremony, in which Balinese Hindus carry statues and sacred objects to the sea for purification. On Nyepi day, the Ogoh-ogoh parade is performed the night before, during which giant devil statues are paraded through the streets before being burned, symbolizing purification from evil and negative influences.

This year, Neo+ Kuta Legian also celebrates the new year of Caka, different from previous years, this time the Nyepi celebration is more lively with the Ogoh-ogoh parade which can be witnessed directly on Legian's main street.
